MINUTES OF THE
MEETING
December
30, 2013, Bago City Community Center
The
meeting started at around 2:00 PM with the Interim President, Mr. Gershom
Elican presiding the meeting. Setting together with him at the presidential
table were the Class President Mr. Elson Alvarez, Vice Chairman Abcde Makilan, Treasurer
Amafre Genovis and Secretary Hanne Juanga.
There
were 111 registered attendees present in the meeting.
The
following were important matters discussed:
1. Opening Speech. Mr. Gershom Elican expressed his
gratitude for the overwhelming support of the batch for this year’s annual
reunion. He acknowledged the active participation and cooperation of the batch
in the series of fundraising projects and monthly meetings as well as the
pledges and donations from generous batchmates here and abroad and the
committee heads of the annual reunion. The effort of each one made our activity
a success. Also, he reiterated the need for continued support and cooperation
of each one in whatever projects and activities the batch undertakes,
especially by attending the monthly meeting which is held every last Sunday of
the month around 3:00 PM at the Bantayan Park. He further underscored the
importance of this meeting in terms of planning for the batch activities,
particularly for the upcoming hosting of the batch in 2017.
2. Raffle Tickets. Gershom updated that there were still
unpaid raffle tickets, He reminded the concerned individuals to pay their dues
the soonest possible.
3.
T-Shirts. Gershom made mention that there were
still unclaimed old t-shirts in his custody, and he planned to
distribute/release them soon. He opened up that there will be no more free
t-shirts to be distributed next year during the batch reunion. Instead,
t-shirts will be sold to generate more funds. He encouraged everyone to take
good care of their new t-shirts because that may serve for the next two or
three years, if in case we will never print our new free t-shirts.
4. Election of the New Set of Interim
Officers. At around
2:30 PM, Gershom opened the election of
the new Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer. At the onset, Gershom
requested the assembly to elect a new chairman, noting that as agreed in the
last year’s reunion, a new chairman will be elected from the other section.
However, those nominated for chairmanship (Marlon, Yvette, Christopher,
Stephen, and Remar) refused to accept their nominations for personal reasons.
After series of speeches and pleadings from the assembly, Gershom was unanimously
elected and the rest of the officers.
The new set of interim officers for
2014 included: Gershom Elican (Chairman), Abcde Makilan (Vice-Chairman), Dennis
Madrigal (Secretary) and Amafre Genovis (Treasurer). The newly-elected officers
accepted their election and thanked the assembly for their trust. They also requested
the utmost support and cooperation of everyone especially their presence during
monthly meetings and activities.
